Dental Care for Native Americans
Dental care remains a challenge for many Native Americans due to limited provider access, and periodontal disease is especially common among people with diabetes. Kanza Dental Clinic helps address these needs with a highly trained team and provides quality care to the Native American community.
Dental Services Offered
- Regular dental exams
- Cleanings, sealants and fluoride
- Fillings, extractions, and x-rays
- Specialty care, such as in-office surgical wisdom teeth extractions
- Other services include periodontal surgeries such as soft tissue/gum grafts and CT imaging
Implant Placement
Exclusive for Kaw Nation tribal members: Implant placement to replace a single tooth or mini implants for retaining existing dentures.
Eligiblilty Requirements
- You must have a Certificate Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) card
- You must have an active chart at Kanza Health Clinic, meaning you must have been seen for a primary care visit at the clinic at least once during the past three years.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
To keep your chart active, you must have a primary care visit at the medical clinic at least once every three years. To use dental services, you must be an established patient at the medical clinic.

Better Health Care is Our Mission
Kanza Health Clinic is located within the Pawnee Service Unit, which encompasses Kay, Pawnee, Osage, Garfield, Grant, Noble, and Payne counties. When the clinic opened, it operated with five employees. Since then, it has grown to a staff of nearly 40 employees. We are operated under Indian Health regulations, policies, and are funded through the IHS compact.
